Matthew Strada is a visiting assistant professor of law and Donald Gaines Murray Fellow. He teaches in the first-year Lawyering Program. His research interests include administrative law, separation of powers, and securities regulation.
Professor Strada previously taught legal writing at Catholic University Columbus School of Law and at George Washington University School of Law. Prior to entering academia, he served as deputy general counsel at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, where he led a team of lawyers specializing in regulatory issues. Earlier in his career, Professor Strada was counsel to the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission and an enforcement attorney at the SEC. Professor Strada also worked in the enforcement division of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and as a litigator at two international law firms. He clerked for Judge Carol Bagley Amon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Professor Strada’s scholarship has appeared in the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Law & Public Affairs, University of Illinois Law Review Online, Regulatory Review, and Yale Journal on Regulation: Notice & Comment.
Professor Strada is a graduate of Columbia Law School. He received his B.A. in philosophy and history from Northwestern University and an M.A. in writing from Johns Hopkins University.
