In this clinic, you will work with attorneys investigating and prosecuting consumer protection claims in the Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, while also developing litigation skills in a separate classroom component. You will help investigate and litigate consumer protection violations, especially those that target the unsophisticated. Your work may include researching legal issues, drafting discovery requests, briefing motions, interviewing victims and finding facts, preparing legal pleadings, assisting with legislative projects, and more. While this course is excellent preparation for students interested in consumer protection, it also is well suited for students interested in litigation skills and strategy.
