Marilyn Jones is the student financial planning manager in the Office of Student Services, responsible for all aspects of law student financial planning and debt counseling programs. She regularly meets with students, helping them understand the complex policies and procedures related to federal and state financial aid programs, and assists students in establishing short- and long-term debt management plans.
She manages and ensures the efficient distribution of law school scholarships to students including monitoring registration and residency changes; notifying students regarding increases and re-evaluations; and developing, redeveloping, and managing data systems that capture specific data used in-house and within campus administrative offices. She also works with senior administrators to develop critical procedures and practices for the distribution of scholarship funding to law students.
In addition, she administers Maryland Carey Law’s Loan Repayment Assistance Program to law graduates, serves as point person for the onboarding of student research assistants, and serves as the law school’s liaison to the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
