Dan Mendelsohn is a partner at Venable LLP. He focuses his practice on a wide range of corporate law matters, including corporate governance, securities transactions, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate investment trusts (REITs). He has represented issuers in multiple stock and debt offerings, including initial public offerings and other financial transactions. He also regularly represents start-up biotechnology companies in financings and corporate governance matters, and investment companies incorporated in Maryland in matters of Maryland corporate law, including takeover defenses and shareholder litigation. He also serves as outside general counsel to start-up technology companies, and as a special legal advisor to high-net-worth individuals and families. He earned a JD, magna cum laude, from Maryland Carey Law, and a BS in Finance from the University of Maryland, College Park. He was inducted into the Order of the Coif in 2012.
