Michele D. Hall is an assistant public defender at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender. She has served in this role for over five years as both a trial attorney representing children in Prince George’s County charged in juvenile court and children charged as adults, as well as an appellate attorney. Michele works on both general criminal appeals and focuses on statewide juvenile appellate strategy, regularly arguing before both the Appellate Court and Supreme Court of Maryland. She also engages in legislative advocacy, regularly testifying before the Maryland General Assembly, meeting with legislators, and working with fellow stakeholders and community advocates.

Michele previously worked as an attorney at Brown, Goldstein & Levy, where she maintained a varied practice in state and federal criminal defense and investigations, disability and employment law, and prisoners’ rights cases.

She attended Harvard Law School and graduated cum laude in 2017. While at HLS, she was a member of the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, where she represented low-income tenants in eviction proceedings in Boston Housing Court. She was also a proud member of the Harvard Black Law Student Association. After graduating law school, she clerked for the Hon. Catharine F. Easterly on the D.C. Court of Appeals.
