Amanda Barnes is the office manager for the Office of Student Services where she plans and oversees a variety of professional and administrative activities related to the efficient daily operation of the Student Services Suite. Serving as the face of the Office of Student Services, she offers a welcoming and helpful first point of contact, and provides problem-solving assistance to students, faculty, staff, and other individuals who contact the Student Services Suite. She is also involved in the administration of student travel and expense reimbursement and assists with the preparation of bar certifications.
Prior to joining Maryland Carey Law, she served as the student employment coordinator in the Office of Student Financial Assistance at the University of Maryland, Baltimore where she worked with supervisors, students, and various community stakeholders as part of the Federal Work-Study program. Prior to joining UMB, she was a federal government employee at the Social Security Administration. She also has a background in the financial services industry. She was licensed to sell securities and advised shareholders on various financial products including IRAs and 529 savings plans.
She will complete her bachelor's degree in psychology in spring 2024 at the University of Maryland Global Campus and plans to pursue a graduate degree in industrial and organizational psychology.
