Katherine Schutes is a research fellow and staff attorney for the Network for Public Health Law, Eastern Region, and a research fellow at Maryland Carey Law where she earned her JD with a certificate in Environmental Law in 2023. While attending law school, she focused on assisting environmental justice communities through the Environmental Law Clinic and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. She also completed a public health research internship with the National Conference of State Legislatures. Her areas of interest include environmental health, sustainability analytics, and public health advocacy. Schutes holds a BS in Environmental Science and Policy and a BA in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
