Jonah Berthelsen
Bio
Jonah Berthelsen is a JD candidate attending the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. He is enrolled in the Intellectual Property track and hopes to pursue a career in that field through policy or government work. Prior to law school, he attended St. Olaf College for his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Film Studies. He subsequently completed a year of service with an AmeriCorps program in Boston, Massachusetts, during which he gained an appreciation for the outsized impact of public interest work in service to the local, regional, and national communities that helped shape the trajectory of his personal and vocational development. During his time in law school, Jonah has continued to explore this passion through his professional experiences with the DC Bar Pro Bono Center, the Smithsonian Institution's Office of the General Counsel, and the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce under Congressman Bobby Scott. He is currently enrolled in the Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic as a Trademarks and Copyright Student Attorney—a position that allows him to engage with his passions for IP and public interest work by assisting members of the Baltimore community with related legal issues.
