Gary J. Beier
Bio
Gary Beier is a native of Annapolis, Maryland. After graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 2012, Gary completed naval nuclear propulsion training in Charleston, South Carolina, and the Submarine Officer Basic Course in Groton, Connecticut. In 2014, Gary reported to the nuclear-powered submarine USS Texas (SSN 775) stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. While on board Texas, Gary served as the Chemistry and Radiological Controls Officer, the Communications Officer, and the Operations Officer while completing a deployment to the Western Pacific. From 2017 to 2020, Gary served as the Special Operations Officer at Submarine Group Seven in Yokosuka, Japan. In October 2020, Gary transitioned from active duty to the reserves and started law school. He was recently selected for promotion to lieutenant commander. Gary intends on pursuing patent litigation following graduation. This summer he will be working as a summer associate at Sidley Austin LLP in Washington, D.C. with their intellectual property litigation team. Gary and his wife Kristyna have been married for nine years. They have one son, Max, and a daughter due in December. They live in Annapolis.
