Professor Maureen Sweeney was quoted in "Thousands of immigrants uprooted as US expels them to nations they've never known" in the Baltimore Banner on Sept. 8, 2025. Sweeney is director of the Chacón Center for Immigrant Justice at Maryland Carey Law.
There is nothing under the law that keeps them from doing this. Earlier administrations had some misgiving to the appropriateness of doing this. But those informal guardrails are not restraining this administration.
