Professor Mark Graber awarded honorary degree from Union College in New York

Professor Mark Graber was awarded an honorary Doctor of Law degree at the 230th Union College commencement ceremony on June 16.  

Graber was nominated for the honorary degree by Associate Professor Brad Hays, who teaches political science at Union. Graber chaired Hays’s dissertation committee when he was pursuing his PhD at the University of Maryland, College Park, where Graber taught before joining the Maryland Carey Law faculty. 

Founded in 1795 as the first planned campus in the United States, Union College is a highly selective private liberal arts college in Schenectady, NY.  

Graber is the University System of Maryland Regents Professor at Maryland Carey Law and recognized as one of the leading scholars in the country on constitutional law and politics.
