The Business Law Track is proud to celebrate the graduation of the Class of 2024, the largest cohort in the program's history with 32 accomplished students. This remarkable group has demonstrated exceptional resilience, adaptability, and camaraderie, making their journey truly special. To honor this exceptional class, the law school hosted a memorable graduation ceremony, bringing together students and faculty to celebrate their achievements on May 16, 2024.
The Class of 2024 began their law school journey under extraordinary circumstances. In 2021, as the world grappled with the COVID-19 pandemic aftermath, these students embarked on their legal education amidst uncertainty and disruption.
Throughout their time in the Business Law Track, the Class of 2024 has achieved numerous milestones and accolades. Their accomplishments reflect their dedication to excellence and their potential to make significant contributions to the legal profession. Our graduates will start their next phase of their legal careers at such places as the Supreme Court of Maryland, Venable LLP, McGuireWoods LLP – Baltimore, Semmes, Bowen, & Semmes, Kirkland & Ellis, Dechert LLP, Maryland Court of Appeals, Office of Chief Counsel at the IRS, Husch Blackwell, Nelson Mullins Riley and Scarborough LLP, Constellation Software Inc., Shulman Rogers, Gallagher Evelius & Jones, LLP, Ballard Spahr LLP, Capital Markets Associate at Womble Bond Dickinson, Richards, Layton & Finger and other prestigious positions.
As these graduates step into the professional world, they carry with them the knowledge, skills, and experiences gained during their time in the Business Law Track. To earn the letter of completion, the students must complete core courses: Foundations in Business Law, Accounting & Finance Basics for Lawyers or Corporate Finance, Income Tax, Business Associations, a statutory course and a practical skills course. Students complete their business law focus of study through electives. With the teaching of expert faculty, they are well-prepared to tackle complex legal challenges, drive innovation, and lead with integrity. The Class of 2024 leaves behind a legacy of resilience and community, inspiring future cohorts to strive for excellence.
