Maryland Carey Law’s Intellectual Property Law Program is proud to announce the graduation of the newest cohort of IP Law Track students. Eleven graduates completed the rigorous requirements necessary to complete the Intellectual Property Law Track and will begin their legal careers with an exemplary accomplishment.
After years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, these eleven graduates have reached an important milestone in their lives. As they move on to the next chapter of their journey, we want to take a moment to reflect on their achievements.
This law school class has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to their studies as they had their first year of law school abruptly interrupted by a worldwide pandemic. As if the first year of law school is not stressful enough, the students and faculty had to adjust to a virtual classroom. Their journey wasn’t easy as the isolation prevented them from participating in traditional law school activities and establishing social and professional networks. Nevertheless, they have persevered – showing remarkable resilience and determination. "Our track students have showcased unwavering dedication throughout the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. They will undoubtedly pave their path to success, overcoming any adversity they may encounter,” noted Heather Terech, Managing Director of the IP Law Program.
Our Intellectual Property Law track students have demonstrated an exceptional level of knowledge of IP Law. These students have taken the time to delve into a complex and ever-changing area of law that requires a deep understanding of the legal framework, as well as the ability to apply it in practical situations. With their extensive knowledge, they are well-equipped to advise clients on a wide range of IP issues, from patent and trademark law to copyright and trade secrets. “Classes, research, clinic, and networking events all helped me prepare for a career after law school. I am thankful for this program – I feel ready to take on any challenge,” stated Katlyn Slough, one of the Intellectual Property Law Track Graduates. Our 2023 graduates will take these skills and with them to a variety of excellent firms such as Cozen O'Connor, Sidley Austin, LLP - Washington DC, and Sterne Kessler Goldstein & Fox. Further, their ability to navigate the nuances of IP law enables them to provide creative and effective solutions that protect their clients' interests while adhering to the law.
As we bid farewell to the class of 2023, we want to congratulate them on their completion of the Intellectual Property Track and wish them all the best in their future endeavors. We are confident that they will go on to make a difference in the world and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
