Clinic Perspective: Nikita Floore '15

What did you enjoy about your clinic experience?
I participated in the Civil Rights for Persons with Disabilities Clinic and I enjoyed serving with the National Association of the Deaf (NAD). The clinic faculty and NAD staff incorporated clinic students into the organization well and made certain that our contributions were recognized and celebrated. It was a fantastic overall experience as a law student. This clinic allowed me to gain further insight of a population I became familiar with in my previous experience as a vocational rehabilitation counselor.

Was there a particularly memorable moment from your clinic experience that you'd like to share?
My clinic experience included a group outing to an Orioles game at Camden Yards. This allowed building camaraderie and demonstrating the need for balance and recharging as a professional.

What was your greatest takeaway from your clinic experience?
My greatest takeaway from my clinic experience is to remain objective regarding how a law degree can allow you to serve your community.

How has your clinic experience benefitted you in your career and approach to lawyering?
This clinic experience further solidified my focus on assisting diverse populations and the need for incorporating all individuals into processes and systems that impact them.
