It is my honor to offer recognition and gratitude to alumni, colleagues, and friends who have supported the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. Your generosity enables us to meet our mission and nurture opportunities that enrich the communities we serve.
I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish together. Throughout my tenure as dean, I have seen an outpouring of support from members of the Maryland Carey Law alumni community. Thank you for providing a strong foundation for our law school. You are essential to our continued success and help prepare us for our future.
I am grateful that you chose to support our mission with your philanthropy, your talent, and your time. I encourage you to view our fiscal year 2021 Impact Report (July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021) to understand the transformative impact of our community this year.

The Hon. Marcella A. Holland ’83, Senior Judge, Circuit Court for Baltimore City, Maryland Judiciary: I support Maryland Carey Law School at the MCLSC level because the law school gave me the legal and networking background that jumped started my legal career, which eventually lead me to become Maryland’s first African American female Administrative Judge. Also, diversity and inclusion are very important to me and still much needed in the legal profession, so I give because I want to reach back and make it possible for minority law students to gain that same legal education and opportunity to reach their ultimate career goal and further diversify our profession.

I was fortunate to receive financial assistance to attend Maryland Carey Law as the Osborne Scholar. That experience enabled me to do things I would not have been able to otherwise. Giving is my way of helping others to have similar experiences.

As a recent graduate, supporting Carey Law at the MCLSC level is particularly attainable at a reduced introductory rate. In addition, many employers offer an end of year giving match program for law school donations, and I encourage other graduates to seek out these great opportunities to easily expand your philanthropic impact.
