Alumni Weekend

Alumni Weekend 2026 will be held Thursday, April 16 - Saturday, April 18. Please make sure your contact information is updated so you are able to receive updated Alumni Weekend communications.

During Alumni Weekend 2026, we will also celebrate milestone reunions for class years ending in 1s and 6s. To make your reunion celebration the best it can be, we need your help to spread the word and to get your classmates excited. Women, Leadership & Equality Program Annual Reception

The Women, Leadership & Equality Program (WLE) invites 22 years of Rose Zetzer Fellows, the Women's Leadership Circle and friends of the Program to join us for this opportunity to reconnect, for fellowship and to celebrate women in the law.

National Trial Team Meet-and-Greet Hosted by the Trial Advocacy Leadership Council

Join the Trial Advocacy Leadership Council for a meet-and-greet to discuss the future of the National Trial Team and to congratulate Salsbury Director, Ben Garmoe '16, on being named the 2026 Rising Star honoree! This will be a chance to connect with fellow Trial Team alumni, contribute to a conversation about upcoming events and how to build more alumni involvement, and discuss how to grow the Trial Team’s footprint in the advocacy community. Light appetizers and drinks will be served.

Alumni Honors Banquet: A Celebration of Leadership

Every year, Maryland Carey Law recognizes alumni for their leadership, achievements, and impact on Maryland Carey Law and the legal profession. Celebrate our 2026 award recipients at the annual Alumni Honors Banquet. Your ticket includes admission to the event, a seated dinner and open bar, and networking with fellow Maryland Carey Law alumni, faculty and staff. The annual Alumni Honors Banquet is hosted by the Alumni Board.

All are welcome to attend the business law breakfast where we will be celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the Business Law Track at Maryland Carey Law! Over the past fifteen years, the Business Law Track has helped shape generations of business lawyers, thanks in large part to the strength and engagement of our alumni community. Please join us as we reflect on the track’s growth, celebrate its impact, reconnect with Business Law Track graduates, and connect with fellow alumni in the business law community.

Golden Graduates Luncheon: Inducting the Class of 1976

Maryland Carey Law continues its tradition of celebrating our most experienced alumni – our Golden Graduates – with a special luncheon during Alumni Weekend. Alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago are among this distinguished group.

Enjoy opportunities to reconnect throughout Alumni Weekend as we welcome all class years preceding 1976 to join us in recognizing the Class of 1976 for their Golden 50-year Reunion Celebration. This event is only open to alumni who graduated 1976 or earlier.

Journals Open House

The five journals of Maryland Carey Law are excited to open their doors and bring alumni and students together to network and reflect on the history, and a look into it the future, of our esteemed journals. Stop by for a tour of the offices and play networking bingo for an opportunity to win prizes!

Chacón Center and Immigration Law Alumni Reception

Whether you practice or studied immigration law, provide pro bono services in the immigration space, or just want to catch up on the Chacón Center and support fellow Maryland Carey alumni in the immigration law space, all alumni are welcome to join us for networking, connection and support. After our brief program, alumni are welcome to stay and network or keep the conversations going at the all-alumni happy hour.

Pickleball Mixer & Clinic
8:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. | URecFit - SMC Student Center 4th Floor
Ticket price: $25* **

Join us on campus for our first ever pickleball mixer and clinic! Seasoned vets and newbies are all welcome for a morning of fun, competition and learning. If you are new to the sport we will have spaces available for the clinic where you will learn how to play the fastest growing sport in America. Guests are welcome to arrive as early as 8:30 a.m.

All ticket holders will have full access to the URecFit locker room and showers (towels are available, please bring your own lock). If you do not want to play pickleball, but are interested in visiting the gym and rooting on fellow alumni, tickets/day passes are available. This event is open to alumni and guests 18 years of age and over. Email alumni@law.umaryland.edu for details.

Alumni and Family Picnic

Celebrate Alumni Weekend with your family and friends during our Alumni and Family Picnic. Guests will enjoy complimentary barbeque inspired food, beer, wine and soft drinks. Cornhole, face painting, lawn games, and other kids activities will be available to enjoy.

This year, we are celebrating milestone reunions for the classes of 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001, 2006, 2011, 2016, and 2021. The Reunion Class Dinner includes an open bar cocktail reception, followed by a seated dinner, and ends with a dessert reception complete with an open bar, coffee and a special alumni weekend gift.

Each class will have the opportunity to take a class photo!
