Center for Health & Homeland Security

The University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security (CHHS) is an academic non-profit consulting center that works with emergency responders around the globe to develop plans, policies and strategies for government, corporate, and institutional clients. CHHS has grown dramatically since its founding in 2002, now boasting a staff of more than 40, with a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds.

CHHS provides general emergency preparedness planning, cyber response plans, continuity of operations planning, preparation for functional needs populations during emergencies, mass evacuation and sheltering planning, emergency communication systems, hospital coordination, trainings, and exercises.
