International Business Transactions
Course Description
This course (formerly titled International Transactions) deals with the legal problems arising out of activities that cross national borders, with a special focus on international business transactions. After an overview of the principal institutions involved in international transactions as well as of the forms of international commercial activity, the course will cover the following substantive law subjects: international trading of goods; financing international transactions; technology transfer arrangements; and foreign direct investment. Also included will be the special subject of dispute resolution in international transactions, including jurisdictional questions, international arbitrations, choice of law, extraterritorial jurisdiction and discovery, and enforcement of international judgments and arbitral awards.
