Currently the Clinic does not have any type of "walk-in" consultation facilities, and we do not give legal advice over the phone. Since our attorneys are also students, our availability for assistance is dependent on the academic calendar.

Our student attorneys work under the direct supervision of faculty members, and only on the cases that the faculty member assigns to them. We receive many of our cases from organizations such as Legal Aid and Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service. The instructor of the individual clinic makes the determination to take a case based upon student enrollment and how many cases they already have on their docket for the semester.

The Clinic considers all requests for assistance on a case-by-case basis. Aside from their time in the Clinical Law Program, University of Maryland Carey School of Law students are not licensed attorneys and cannot be retained to represent you in a legal matter.
